The €20,000 NL Hold'em will become the biggest buy in so far of this 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague stop. Play commences today at 12.30 p.m. from the Hilton Prague in the picturesque capital of Czechia.
This €20,000 buy-in event has been a regular feature on the EPT schedule and usually attracts some of the best and brightest that poker has to offer. The last running of this event came in Cyprus in October, and it was Ognyan Dimov who took home the title. The Bulgarian agreed an ICM chop with runner up Kayhan Mokri, who took home $260,800, slightly more than Dimov's haul of $253,876.
However Dimov's win signalled an end to a nine year title drought and he left with a coveted Spade trophy and saw him scoop a lion's share of the $902,776 prizepool and best 47 entrants.

Late registration will close at the end of Level 10, with each level lasting 30-minutes. Blinds begin at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big blind ante. Each player will receive a 100,000 starting stack, equating to 100 big blinds at the start of play. Each player has 15 seconds to act on their first decision and 30 seconds on any subsequent decision.
Players will also receive 6-time bank cards worth 30 seconds each at the time of taking their seat, then one additional time bank card at the start of every odd level. Eliminated players who re-enter can claim the number of time bank cards they had at elimination when they take their seat and not later.
Breaks of 15-minutes are scheduled at the end of Levels 3, 6 and 10. A 60-minute dinner break is scheduled for the end of Level 10.

Espen Jorstad opened from the button to 3,000. Nikita Kuznetcov made it 15,000 from the small blind. Viacheslav Buldygin folded in the big blind and Jorstad also let his hand go.
The very next hand Jorstad opened from early position and was three-bet once again, this time by Buldygin. He made it 11,000 to go from the small blind which garnered another fold from Jorstad.

Niklas Astedt called in the small blind. Espen Jorstad checked his option in the big blind .
Astedt then led out for 1,500 on the 9♦3♣J♣ flop. Jorstad called. Both players checked the Q♠ turn before Astedt led the flush completing 4♣. He wagered 6,000 and Jorstad folded.
